Shaving Foam Fun

A couple of Sundays ago our little Stampin' Up team got together for an afternoon of fun and creativity.  We wanted to try out techniques that we probably (make that definitely) would not do for a class because of the 'mess' factor.  We each brought along one project for everyone to make - this card won the 'mess' award.  We had such fun with shaving foam and reinkers, sponges, daubers, messy fingers and hands.  Fabulous day!!!

Mary's Card

The background of this card was made by spraying shaving foam into a paper plate, dropping reinker into the foam and swirling it round with a toothpick or something like that to get a marbled look.   I used Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey ink.  Then drop the cardstock onto foam making sure it is completely covered, pull it out and remove excess foam, wipe with a paper towel and leave to dry. 

Jan's Card

The background in this card was achieved by inking up a block with two colours,  (Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizzazz (I think),  misting it with water until it was wet and stamping onto watercolour paper.  Then we sprinkled salt onto the paper and left it to dry.  The salt draws up the liquid and leaves this mottled look.  

Carol's Card

Carol is a very new demonstrator who showed us how to pop the little pieces which came out after using the Botanical Builder Thinlet Dies, back into the negative spaces.

Deana's Card

This card was inspired by Michelle Zindorf.  The dragonfly was inked in black and embossed with clear embossing powder.   I created the rings in the water by using Circles Framelits as templates  (about 6 I think) which were then sponged, starting with the largest circle in Soft Sky ink and ending with the smallest. (It was pure luck that the smallest circle ended right in the middle of the dragonfly's body).  Then I worked my way out again  using Pacific Point and Mint Macaroon inks.
