MARBLES

Take a look at a the marbling technique in the Stampin’ Up! video demonstration.  If this technique is new for you – you’ll love it.  If you haven’t used the marbling technique in awhile, this will remind you of the beautiful backgrounds you can create by swirling together shaving cream and drops of ink from Stampin’ Up! ink refills.

TAKE YOUR PICK DIE BRUSH TIP

Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip
At Stampin’ Up! we have so many intricately beautiful dies, and we love incorporating them as much as possible! But what if you’re using a die and you can’t detach all the little pieces that make it so intricate? That’s why the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip is a must-have! It easily removes small cut pieces from dies, and it fits into your Take Your Pick tool, so all you have to do is put the die-cut image on the foam pad, and run the brush over it to remove any excess paper from the die! Easy and done.

It makes crafting so much simpler and I couldn't have done without it last week when making the blue butterfly baby mobile.

ADVENT CALENDAR PROJECT

I have one special class which will be on Saturday 5 October  - this class is already full!

If anyone else is interested in making the advent calendar, I will open up another class - if more than six people I could hold it down at church.  The cost will be $68 and that needs to be paid before the class so that I can order the kits.

The kit is very sturdy being made of thick white cardboard.  The drawers will not break easily and there are lots of extra drawer front images and stickers etc left over from this kit that could be used on a card or other projects.

If you do not live local to me, you can still order and make up this gorgeous advent calendar by ordering on my online store from 4 September 2019.

SAILING GRUNGE

I've been thinking that I haven't used my embossing paste for a while and discovered that it was going a little hard.  I mixed it up again and it's usable so it's going to get a workout this week!

Using one of the new stencils in the Holiday Catalogue I spread the embossing paste onto a piece of come Sail Away DSP and left it to dry.  I diecut the rope once, the knot four times and the 'thingys' that go on the compass in Soft Suede card.  The 'thingys' (technical term I know) have been covered with the fine tip glue pen** and left to dry and harden.  Once they were dry, I attached them to the compass with a small brad.
After stamping the compass image onto Very Vanilla card, I punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and punched another Very Vanilla circle with the 1 3/4" circle punch. * I stamped the congrats in Granny Apple Green ink and diecut it.  All of these were sponged with Soft Suede ink.

Once the embossing paste was dry I roughed the DSP using the edge of my craft knife, intentionally cutting in one or two places.  I then crumpled the DSP and sponged the creaselines and all around the edgeI glued the rope onto the DSP, cut off the excess and adhered this to the card front, making sure NOT to smooth out the DSP too much.

*   If you don't have circle punches you could use the layering circles dies.
** Or you could use Stampin" Up's new Shimmer Crystal Effects available soon       in the Holiday Catalogue coming out 1 September 2019.
