WINK OF STELLA

When I first heard "Wink of Stella" I wondered what it was and why it was called that. Well, it's a great way to sparkle up your creations, add a splash of glitter and highlight areas of interest. This pen has a weird name and I found out that it actually gets its name from the sparkle this constellation brings to the sky.

In this double front card, I have used the clear Wink of Stella on just the insides of the flowers - just gives a little bit of sparkle.

It is nice to have a little bit of surprise for the recipient - this is apart from all the beautiful stamping and colouring and sparkles of course.

Pink Wedding

I'm loving the botanical Blooms stamp set and the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies so much! I think it's the flowers I like the most - so beautiful.

Just using the two colours makes the card easy on the eye but there is still plenty to take in. I have used ink to daub in the centre of each flower and inked around the edge lightly.

I used a retired stamp set for the banner but you could use a set called A Dozen Thoughts or Banner Banter instead to get a similar look.

Beautiful Ride

The technique I've tried today is called split negative - I found it quite hard to do and did wonder if it was going to be too tricky to use in my classes until I used my misti.

I discovered after quite a few attempts that if I stamped the image onto cardstock that was the same size and the image was exactly in the same place, it was much easier to cut in half and piece together.

I think it looks quite stunning. I also liked the look of the embossing folder layered underneath which reminds me of tyre treads.

Beautiful Ride

I've had this stamp set for a wee while but have not been really inspired to do anything with it until today. I came home around lunch time and spent the afternoon in my craft room. That hasn't happened for a while with work, card classes to prepare for and bashing the floor tiles in the bathroom.
I got another aqua painter on Friday (my old one seems to have disappeared ) so thought I 'do have a go at water colouring the VW.

I've used some old washi tape along the bottom of the very vanilla cardstock, the stripey stamp in the gorgeous grunge stamp set with soft suede ink. The VW watercoloured in coastal cabana,the wheels, dogs and suitcases watercoloured in soft suede.

Does it need anything else? I decided no.

A Nice Cuppa

This card I case'd from someone at Stamp Camp (sorry can't remember who) and loved the way she had used the knife, fork and spoon from the Cups and Kettles framelits. I used a stamp from the new Timeless Textures to make a border around the 'place mat' and punches to make the 'plate'. I didn't have silver foil paper so I used some old silver card stock I had.
