Peace Stars

I've set myself the task of using one of the new Christmas stamp sets in the latest Stampin' Up catalogue  - making one Christmas card and one non-Christmas card.  This card was case'd from Crafty Little Peach who is part of the Artisan Design Team for 2020.

I've used the edge of my craft knife to rough up the edges of the balmy paper cardstock layer as well as the whisper white star.  I've also used the new adhesive sheets to attach the pacific point 'peace' to the new balmy blue glimmer paper.  On this card, I've used the blue adhesive-backed gems but the iridescent pearls would look just as good.

The stars all came from last years stamp set called So Many Stars.

SIMPLY CHRISTMAS

Simply Christmas
Getting a head start on your Christmas classes and projects? We have a suggestion as you start planning: keep it simple. Obviously, keeping your crafting simple saves time. But simple projects can also be simply beautiful—clean, fresh, uncluttered. Whether you’re a beginning stamper looking for something uncomplicated or an experienced stamper looking for something quick, you’ll love these projects!
To create these cards and the belly band for the Rectangle Tin, all you need are stamps, ink, paper, and punches. Stamp, cut, adhere—that’s it! Simple doesn’t mean boring, and these projects are evidence of that. Designer Series Paper quickly adds colours and patterns, and punched shapes add interest. And because these projects are simple, it’s easy to make multiples.

MASCULINE AND FEMININE

I do gravitate to the natural look designer series papers and this new one called In Good Taste is another example of Stampin' Up's fabulous DSP.

While I was doing some clearing out in my craft room I found some retired square envelopes and decided to make this card 5" x 5".  This design showcases some of the DSP - looks better in person as the photo has bleached a lot of the design out.  I could have left it there but by using the ornate frames dies, this card could be used for either gender.

GEARED UP GARAGE

I case'd this card from JanB in the UK.  This card uses pretty peacock cardstock as the card base but the second card I made with just jade and it looks just as nice.

I swiped just jade and pretty peacock inks onto a piece of whisper white cardstock and then embossed with silver.  I love how the side of the car has a lighter shade and every time you try this technique you'll get a different result.

I used a retired stamp set called Butterfly Basics to the the line across top and bottom - this reminds me of a tyre track.  Then some stamping and flicking ink in the background completes the look.  I only had gold jump rings to attach the spanner embellishment but did have a silver sharpie which covered very well.

DOUBLE POCKET CARD

This is a fabulous way to use up retired DSP that you tend to accumulate even when you don't mean to.  The DSP is cut to 20cm by 30cm and scored at 10cm and 15cm.
The top right corner of the DSP is scored and folded in at 9.75cm across the top and down the side.  The bottom right corner is cut at 5cm across and up the side.  The score line on the left is cut to half way.
Then the DSP is then folded up away from you on the horizonal score - the diagonal score is the front of the card.

Then fold on the vertical fold so that the left side folds under the right.

You end up with two pockets on the front of the card which do need to be adhered carefully on the sides and the bottom.

Inside you end up with 3 layers of DSP on the left hand side so adding a whisper white card layer on the right gives a little more weight and somewhere to write.

Some time ago I made hot glue dots and decided to use them on this card.  I think they are more masculine than smaller embellishments.
