I first saw string art on our team page and thought that I had to try it out. After a few attempts (which went in the bin) and watching a few youtube clips, these is my finished cards.
So I have learned that using different string (I even tried a fine chain) gives a different effect. Here I have used bakers twine bought from Uncle Bills. How you place the wet string on your paper is important too. I didn't like how loops of string came out so in these two samples I used a zigzag pattern, placing the string as close together as I could.
It also looked better when I ran my fingers down the string as it came out of the ink to remove excess wetness.
The reinker I used was a retired Riding Hood Red and the red, white and blue happened 'cos my daughter is in the States at the moment on holiday.

Remember, a handcrafted card is like sending a hug with a fold in the middle!
